Together with the Technical Education, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training Authority (TEVET) and Ministry of Higher Education, WorldSkills Zambia is hosting the first International Skills Excellence Forum from 3 to 4 May in Livingstone, Zambia. The Forum will be joined by high-level representatives from government, industry, and education who play an important role in skills development in Zambia.

“Partnerships for industrialization, job creation, and sustainable skills development” is the overall theme for the Leaders Conference on Skills Development, which is the key event at the Forum where WorldSkills International Board of Directors will share their experience with the key stakeholders.  There will be discussions focused on learning system and skills development from strategic and technical aspects.

Another highlight of the Forum is the Mini Skills Competition which include Carpentry, Welding, Cooking, Landscape Gardening, Restaurant Service, Hairdressing, and Fashion Technology.  The winners from the Mini Skills Competition will proudly represent Zambia to compete at the international level - WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 which will take place from 14-19 October in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.  In addition, an Industry Expo will bring lots of exciting activities and showcases alongside the Skills Competition.

The International Skills Excellence Forum is a fantastic platform for the key stakeholders from government, industry, and education to network and explore collaborations in developing sustainable skills and career prospect for the youth in Zambia.
